reFX NEXUS5

reFX NEXUS5 is a virtual instrument that combines sample-based and synthesis engines with a large factory library, aimed at producers working across many electronic genres.

Open Architecture and Sound Design

Users can build presets from scratch by loading their own samples, creating routings, and assembling expansions. The built-in sample editor includes slicer, loop, and crossfade options. Existing presets from the NEXUS5 library can also serve as a starting point for faster results.

Generators and Effects

NEXUS5 provides eight generators: Virtual Analog, Sampler, Wavetable, Time Stretcher, Retro Sampler, Grain, Cloud, and FM synthesis. The effects section includes the Bucket Brigade Delay, Particle Reverb, Vowel Filter, Rotary, Pusher, and others. Sampling options cover single samples, multi-samples, and complete libraries, with automatic slicing and looping.

Factory Content

The edition adds more than 1,100 new factory presets. Factory content from previous NEXUS versions is also included, bringing the standard edition to more than 5,300 presets. Genre coverage includes EDM, Melodic Techno, House, Vintage Synths, Hip Hop, Lo-fi, Retrowave, Cyberpunk, Drum and Bass, and Trance.

Retro Skin

A retro skin recreates the interface of NEXUS2 and can be enabled with a single click. It is fully functional and suits users who want to work with the earlier layout.

Compatibility and Performance

NEXUS5 works with existing NEXUS projects and libraries, so earlier sounds and DAW projects can be loaded directly. Preset loading is fast, and CPU usage is kept low.

Activation and Installation

Activation is completed online in a few seconds, after which the software runs offline. No dongles or third-party tools are required. Products and expansions are installed through the reFX Cloud App.
